Complaints & Appeals Policy
Introduction
Journal of Azzaytuna University (JAZU) is committed to handling complaints and appeals from authors, reviewers, readers, and other relevant parties in a fair, transparent, independent, and professional manner.
This policy provides a clear mechanism for submitting and handling complaints and appeals while ensuring that all matters are considered objectively and in accordance with recognized principles of publication ethics.
Complaints
Authors, reviewers, readers, and other relevant parties may submit a complaint to the Editorial Board regarding any matter related to the publication process or publication ethics.
Complaints may concern, but are not limited to:
Appeals
An author may appeal an editorial decision concerning a manuscript when clear scientific grounds and objective evidence support the appeal.
Possible grounds for an appeal may include:
A material error in the reviewer's assessment or interpretation of the manuscript.
A substantial misunderstanding of the research content, methodology, or findings.
A conflict of interest that was not known at the time the editorial decision was made.
Appeal Procedure
An appeal must be submitted in writing to the Editorial Board, clearly stating the reasons for the appeal and providing relevant scientific arguments or supporting evidence.
The Editorial Board may uphold the original decision when sufficient grounds for changing it are not established.
The Editorial Board may request an additional evaluation or review when justified.
The manuscript may be referred to an independent reviewer when an additional scientific opinion is required.
The Editorial Board may reconsider the decision when substantial scientific or procedural grounds are identified.
Fairness and Confidentiality
The journal handles complaints and appeals objectively and fairly and maintains the confidentiality of information related to complaints and appeals to the extent reasonably possible. No complaint or appeal shall improperly influence the independence of the editorial decision-making process.
Final Decision
After completion of the complaint or appeal process and review of all relevant information and evidence, the final editorial decision remains the responsibility of the Editorial Board in accordance with the journal's regulations, policies, and established procedures.
