AI Policy
Introduction
Journal of Azzaytuna University (JAZU) recognizes that artificial intelligence tools and large language models can assist with certain stages of research and manuscript preparation. However, such tools cannot assume scientific or ethical responsibility for published content.
The Journal supports the responsible and transparent use of artificial intelligence while maintaining research originality, data integrity, academic accountability, and the integrity of the scholarly publishing process.
Use of AI by Authors
Authors may use artificial intelligence tools for certain supportive tasks during manuscript preparation, provided that the authors remain fully responsible for the final content.
Disclosure of AI Use
Authors must disclose the use of artificial intelligence tools when such tools have been used substantially in the preparation of the manuscript.
Where applicable, the disclosure should include:
- The name of the AI tool or system used.
- The version, where available.
- The purpose for which the tool was used.
- The section or sections of the manuscript in which it was used.
AI Is Not an Author
ChatGPT or any other artificial intelligence system or tool may not be listed as an author of a manuscript. Scientific, ethical, and legal responsibility for the published work must remain with human authors.
Author Responsibility
Authors remain fully responsible for the final content of the manuscript, including:
AI and Peer Review
Reviewers must not upload manuscripts or any part of a manuscript to publicly available AI tools if doing so could expose the manuscript's content or compromise its confidentiality.
Manuscripts submitted to the Journal are confidential scholarly communications. Reviewers must protect their confidentiality and must not upload or enter manuscript content into any external system that does not adequately guarantee the protection of the manuscript and author information.
AI and the Editorial Team
The editorial team must maintain the confidentiality of manuscripts and related information. AI tools must not be used in a manner that could expose manuscript content, author information, or confidential editorial information to unauthorized parties.
AI-Generated Images and Data
Authors must disclose the use of artificial intelligence in creating or modifying images, figures, data, or other materials associated with the manuscript whenever such use is substantive.
AI must not be used in a manner that distorts scientific results, alters research data, conceals material information, or presents AI-generated material as original research results without appropriate disclosure.
